Having followed shroud for a while and watched him dominate hours of content in FPS games, have you ever wondered what is shroud gaming setup?

As a full-time streamer, you need to pack some serious gear to be able to compete with the rest of the world. And since shroud is a true natural gifted gamer, his entire rig might seem like something of a dream for every gamer.

But unlike the rest of the streamers, shroud doesn’t share much in terms of what he owns. There are some videos where he just showed the rig, but apart from that, it’s still a mystery.

So what is shroud setup? What chair does he have? And what peripherals and components do he uses for his daily streams?

We’ve round up a complete detail, done our research, and watched plenty of videos to be able to list down everything he owns and uses.

Who is Shroud?

Shroud - The world’s most professional, well-gifted gamer.

As a professional CS:Go player, shroud made limelight because of his unprecedented aim bot skills, which we all love and admire. But that’s just a very small slice of what made Shroud - Shroud.

He was a gamer for a while and did a lot of YouTube streaming before he got noticed. In fact, he was so good with mouse and keyboard, that some people mistreated him for using “aimbot”. Hence, the name ‘aimbot‘ master.

Despite everything, he took part in professional gaming and showed the world that he truly is a naturally gifted gamer.

Since 2018, Shroud has been sponsored by many companies, including HyperX and Logitech. His current gaming rig is a mixture of both custom and pre-build hardware, both of which are provided by the companies.

He recently shifted to Ryzen and now proudly owns an RTX 3090 Special Edition graphics card - Yup, the one that is not easy to find.

Shroud PC Setup - Hardware Equipment

Like we said previously, Shroud is not much of a “sharing” guy, at least in terms of the hardware he uses. His gaming rigs are confidential, mostly provided by the company he currently has signed with.

On the day of writing this article, he signed a contract with Logitech, meaning he will use the setup sent by the company. The main specs of his rig by MAINGEAR are as follows:

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 5950x
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3090
  • RAM: 64 GB HyperX Predator DDR4
  • Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix x570-E
  • Case: Maingear Vybe 2

The high-end CPU and GPU make it easier for Shroud to stream and game at the same time. Here’s a breakdown of all the equipment he uses.

  1. Ryzen 9 5950x

The all-time favorite, the best you can find in the market, Shroud’s main CPU buddy is non-other than the steller 16-core, 32-Thread Ryzen 9 5950X. He previously used the Core i9 10th gen series but has recently cleaned the lines between desktop and so-called high-end desktop.

The CPU is perfect if you deal with demanding work like owning a workhorse or content-creation application to handle both streaming and gaming, highly multithreaded task, and ultimate performance.

The CPU base clock is 3.4GHz which can be raised to a peak boost speed of 4.90GHz. The only thing we could point out is the price. But if you’re looking for an all-in-one CPU that delivers killer raw performance, there’s currently no better option in the market right now.

Pros

  • Stellar raw performance for everyday work
  • Strong gaming and video streaming
  • Outperform competitors Intel CPUs
  • Low TDP

Cons

  • The price is a bit high
  • Requires dedicated motherboard
  1. EVGA GeForce RTX 3090

The next component that powerhouse the entire graphical system is yet again, the high-end model of the market RTX 3090. He owns both the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 and the Founder Edition RTX 3090 from Nvidia. The one that is sent to hIm by Logitech comes with the Founder Edition GPU.

Apart from this, the RTX 3090 is currently the most powerful graphics card in the market that can deliver jaw-dropping 3D encoding, 8K gaming performance, and high-speed rendering of all projects. Powered by 24 GB of GDDR6X Ram and a gigantic heatsink, the GPU can easily deliver strenuous demands, whether you’re a hardcore gamer or a streamer.

Pros

  • Best GPU performance in the market
  • Great value for professional gamers and streamers
  • 8K Gaming compatible
  • Excellent gaming performance

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Requires a lot of space
  1. HyperX Predator 2×32 GB DDR4 RAM

HyperX has come up with some pretty amazing designs in the past and the Predator series is no exception. Shroud uses dual-stick 32 GB rams that are clocked at 3000 MHz DDR4 technology. The unique shape and amazing RGB light allow it to fit perfectly on most Mini ITX boards as well as large models.

Because Shroud mostly does multitask, running Twitch and games on one side, while his camera and other hardware equipment are running on the other, the 64 GB pair is enough to get the job done.

Pros

  • Good XMP Performance
  • IR-synchronized RGB Light
  • Excellent overclocked performance

Cons

  • A separate controller is required for RGB
  1. Asus ROG Strix X570-E

A masterclass in its own segment, to power all the bad boys CPU + GPU, there’s no exception that Shroud won’t use the best motherboard in the market. The Strix X570-E Gaming edition is a class of its own, featuring 8 I/O USB 3 Gen2 I/O panels and 8 SATA ports for seamless transmission.

The Strix X570-E is specially designed for power-hungry gamers who want to support their latest hardware with maximum connectivity options. Or perhaps it’s the association between overclocking and gaming that ears Strix X570-E its name.

Pros

  • More USB 3 ports than any competitor
  • Cheaper than other options in the market
  • 2.5 GbE+ Ethernet+ WiFi 6
  • Good overclocking performance

Cons

  • Only 2 M.2 connectors
  1. Storage options: HDD + SDD + NAS

When it comes to data storage, what most gamers use is a series of HDD + SSD storage options. Since shroud does a lot of video editing, SSD storage devices aren’t the best value for the buck.

For this, Shroud uses a separate NAS hub along with cloud storage that offers him plenty of space to do his tasks.

When it comes to gaming, going faster is always better than going capacious. The WD VelociRaptor is an HDD by genre but has a speed of 10,000 rpm. Comparing this to other brands, you’ll only get a maximum of 7200 rpm. So, simple math, more rpm means more speed.

Pros

  • Insane read/write speed
  • Built-on cooler
  • Faster data recovery

Cons

  • Expensive than regular HDD

Since shroud has 2 M.2 slots, he uses the Samsung 980 Pro, one of the market’s best most performance active M.2 storage options. This SSD serves up to 7/5 GBps and an upward of 1 million random read/write IOPS, making it the most tested and well-used SSD for gamers.

Pros

  • Black PCB with active cooling
  • Fast PCIe 4.0 Performance
  • AES 256-bit encryption

Cons

  • Average ratings

Now, to store all of his streaming data, Shroud uses a custom NAS storage device. He hasn’t shown it yet to his fans, but after careful research, this is the best NAS storage device we found on the market.

This 2-bay NAS storage option comes at an insanely affordable price tag and has a powerful CPU that is capable of transcoding 4K content on the fly. You can easily pair it with a 2x 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch HDD/SSD storage device and get all your data synchronized in one place.

What’s more? It’s super quiet, has a built-in cloud connection, offers plenty of software options, and is easier to set up and use.

Pros

  • Intuitive Sleek design
  • Supports one-touch backup
  • Toolless drive installation

Cons

  • Limited warranty
  • Gigabit Ethernet connection only
  1. Maingear Vybe

The last time we checked, Shroud PC was sponsored by Maingear, so he uses a custom Maingear Vybe case sent by the company. In terms of design, it is very minimalistic with black sleek finishing. It is whisper quiet and can easily house a large ATX motherboard with liquid cooling options.

Furthermore, it also has RGB lighting, 3 I/O ports, good airflow, and plenty of space to house a big GPU.

Pros

  • Excellent build quality
  • Attractive design
  • Great 4K gaming and streaming performance
  • Fantastic customization options

Cons

  • No Wi-Fi preconfigured

Shroud Gaming Setup – Peripherals

Now that we’ve talked about the hardware he uses, let’s talk about the peripherals, including the keyboard and mouse he uses.

  1. Shroud Mice Setup

Shroud has used a number of gaming mice to play World of Warcraft, Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Here’s a list of all the gaming mice he currently owns

Sleek look, attractive design, comfortable, and faster speed. The Logitec G Pro is built for pro-gamers, featuring a 1ms response rate, programmable buttons, nice clickable touch, and 1600 DPI accuracy. With an ergonomic design, this mouse can last up to 50 million clicks, so you’re pretty much covered from all sides.

Pros

  • Rechargeable 48H battery
  • Minimalistic design
  • Great reviews

Cons

  • Larger size for smaller hands

Special Shroud edition, released in collaboration with the streamer. The G303 clocks in at only 75 grams, has a low sensitivity DPI, a faster response rate, and also features the Hero 25K sensor. This is a widely-acclaimed sensor from Logitech that brings an extra degree of control and precision to gaming.

Pros

  • Lightspeed Wireless Technology
  • Ultra-long battery life
  • Portable convenience
  • 6 Programmable buttons

Cons

  • Plastic built quality

Another great mouse on the list is Logitech G Pro Wireless Ghost. It is designed for pro gamers and has an incredibly lightweight design, durable accuracy, and a fast response rate.

It also comes with a charging cord that can be used while using the mouse (Sorry Magic mouse users). Some of the other features include Lightsync technology, removable and programmable side buttons.

Pros

  • 200-25,600 DPI
  • Rechargeable 48H battery
  • Hero 25K sensor

Cons

  • Limited color option

Shroud Gaming Keyboard

  1. Logitech G Pro X Mechanical Keyword

One thing we’re sure shroud loves is the good old Logitech’s G Pro X mechanical keyword. The keyboard is too good, that he hasn’t shifted to a new model for a while. It features a tenkeyless design, allowing shroud to gain those extra kills while gaming.

The extra movement area perfectly supports your hand, allowing you to quickly move your mouse with adjustable sensitivity settings. Buyers of the Logitech G Pro can choose between different switch options, GX Brown, Tactiles, GX Blue Clickies, and GX Red Linears. No matter what switches you pick, you can always replace them, since they are easy to adjust.

Though we don’t know what switches Shroud uses, we can put our hard guess on the GX Red Linears, since they are the most active key switches.

Pros

  • Ten-keyless Design
  • Cherry switches - Multiple options
  • Detachable Micro USB Cable

Cons

  • No wireless option
  1. Shroud Gaming Monitor

When it comes to gaming, a millisecond can make a difference. You can have the most powerful hardware on your PC, but if it doesn’t pair with the monitor, you can’t gain those extra kills.

Shroud uses a BenQ Zowie XL2540 gaming monitor that houses an impressive 240Hz display with 1-ms G2G (grey-to-grey) response time. The monitor color vibrancy and equalizer technology with insane graphics detail let players see exactly what there is going on in real-time.

The monitor is impressive and is already a prime choice for many streamers.

Pros

  • 240 Hz Display
  • Full height swivel and tilt adjustment
  • Removable Shield

Cons

  • 1080p monitor

Now, a lot of the time, we’ve seen shroud using the BenQ Zowie, but there’s a possibility that he might’ve changed his monitor recently. And our best guess for this is the MOBIUZ 32” 4K monitor

The Mobiuz EX 3210U is not your average gaming monitor, it is a complete suite that perfectly pairs with Ryzen 9 5950x and RTX 3090. In terms of features, the monitor house a 144Hz, 1ms, IPS, display with AMD FreeSync technology and a resolution of 3840×2160 UHD.

Furthermore, it also has BenQ HDRi technology, black eQualizer image optimization, Light Tuner, and Dynamic 2.1 channel speakers. The connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 which supports 4K 120Hz gaming on console and VRR.

Pros

  • HDR600 True 10-bit
  • Built-in speaker and microphone
  • Adobe RGB and FreeSync

Cons

  • Expensive

Shroud Headset

  1. Logitech G Pro X

A good headset is a must to experience the true meaning of FPS games. Although Shroud has plenty of great headsets, what he loves is the Logitech G Pro X gaming headset.

The headset comes with a USB sound card with 7.1 surround sound technology. The memory foam pads are amazing for continuous gaming and won’t sweat your ears. Its microphone features a Blue design that comes with active noise cancelation, perfect for in-game comms. On top of this, you’ll also get 50-millimeter drives, a compressor, and a high-clarity sound.

Pros

  • Noise reducer
  • Compressor
  • Blue Voice technology

Cons

  • Bulky
  • Expensive
  1. Shroud Gaming Chair - Herman Miller Embody

An excellent gaming setup is incomplete without a perfect chair, right? Without an ergonomic chair, how can you expect hours of gaming and streaming?

For his gaming setup, Shroud uses a Herman Miller Embody chair. It features 6 ergonomic functions that allow him to properly maintain a good posture while he plays or works on the computer.

The chair features an intuitive design that promotes healthy blood and oxygen stimulation in your body, so you can remain focused all the time.

There are 4 different layers of support, each having its own purpose and set of rules. Designed for those that play or work for long hours at a time, the Herman miller chair comes with a generous 12-year warranty.

Pros

  • Rhythm fabric to prevent heat buildup
  • Balanced lumber and back support
  • 12-year warranty

Cons

  • Limited color options

Conclusion

And this is everything you need to know about Shroud PC setup. We will continue updating this post with new and updated items shroud uses.

From PC hardware to peripherals, shroud uses a mixture of both premium and budget devices. However, it doesn’t mean that you have to buy each one of these to become a pro-gamer.

Remember, just like Pewdiepie, Shroud also started from the ground up and now he is one of the most successful streamers on Twitch.
